Objective of the Practice:  To keep each student progressively guided towards their personal and career development during their MBA journey.

The Context: In this Mentor-Mentee Scheme, a mentor is the faculty member who motivates and guides the students during his/her MBA journey in the institute. The institute believes in empowering, nourishing and developing the students. Hence this scheme has been observed to be the key accomplishment in developing a strong teacher & student bond, and helping students to get personal guidance in their career and personal concerns.

The Practice

  1.   Each mentor is assigned with a batch of students/mentees at the start of the academic session.
  2.   The students have a mentor assigned from the start of their day 1.
  3.   The mentor counsels and monitors the academic performance of each student.
  4.   Along with the academic performance the mentor also guides the students for career guidance, confidence and personality development, skill development awareness, personal or family concerns
  5.   The mentor keeps in touch with every student assigned to him, and also communicates the progress and performance of each student to their parents.
  6.   The parents are also in touch with the mentors and all the required assistance is provided to them related to their ward’s development.
  7.   The slow learners are given special attention by the mentors, and guide them to perform better.
  8.   On the other hand, mentors guide the fast learners with various value-added courses, and skill development certifications which they can complete.
  9.   The mentor not only tracks the academic performance of its mentees, but also monitors the participation and involvement of each mentee in various college events and competitions.
  10. To provide necessary and possible assistance to the students, the mentors convey their requirements of professional counsellors or trainers when required to the Principal so that the required resources can be provided.

Evidence of Success

Students who could not express themselves because of language problems or lack of problems were observed to have increased participation and interaction.

Students were not only connected with their mentors during their mBA journey, but also observed that the mentors and mentees are connected with each other even after the students starts working in the other organisations.

The students after their MBA are also in touch with their mentors and keep taking guidance for various career and personal concerns.
